FAQ

Questions, answered

The things UK service businesses ask before choosing Cushty. If your question isn't here, get in touch — we'll answer it directly.

Getting started

Do I need to install any software?
No. Cushty runs in your browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Engineers don't need to download an app to use it on site.
How do I get started with Cushty?
Book a demo. We walk you through how Cushty would work for your business, and if it's a fit we set up your dedicated environment and onboard your team. We don't run a self-serve sign-up — every customer gets a configured workspace, not a generic template.
Can I try Cushty before paying?
We don't offer a self-serve free trial because every Cushty environment is configured to the customer's business. Instead, the demo shows you the full platform applied to your workflow, and billing is month-to-month so you can stop any time without commitment.
How long does onboarding take?
Most businesses are running real jobs in Cushty within a week. We configure the platform around your workflow, import your existing customers and walk your team through the parts they'll use.

Pricing & contracts

How is Cushty priced?
Pricing is based on the number of users who need access, not feature tiers. Every customer gets the full platform — jobs, quoting, invoicing, the client portal and integrations — from day one.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No long-term contract and no setup fee. Cushty is month to month — cancel any time from your account settings. Your dedicated environment, configuration and onboarding are included in the monthly price.

Product

Does Cushty work on mobile?
Yes. The platform is built mobile-first for engineers in the field. Assigned jobs, photo uploads, notes and customer sign-off all work on any phone or tablet — no app to download.
Can my customers use Cushty too?
Yes. Every customer gets their own portal where they can see jobs, approve quotes, pay invoices and sign off completed work. They don't need an account or password — they get in via a secure email link.
What integrations do you support?
Xero for accounting (invoices and payments sync automatically), Stripe for online card payments paid straight into your own Stripe account, and email + SMS for quotes, invoices, reminders and confirmations.
How do I collect payments from customers?
Customers can pay by card through Stripe — every invoice carries a payment link and the payment is reconciled against the invoice automatically. You can also record bank transfers and cash payments by hand. Deposits and staged payments are supported.
Does Cushty integrate with QuickBooks?
Xero is supported today. QuickBooks is on the roadmap — let us know if you need it and we'll prioritise it.
Can Cushty be customised to how my business works?
Yes — that's the point of the dedicated environment. We configure job types, workflows, custom fields, branded templates and terminology to match how you already operate, rather than asking you to fit a generic template.

Data, security & support

Is Cushty built for UK businesses?
Yes. VAT handling, GBP pricing, British date formats, Xero integration with UK tax codes and Stripe payments paid straight into your UK Stripe account.
Where is my data hosted?
In the UK, in line with UK and EU data protection standards. Every customer gets a dedicated environment — your data doesn't share a database with any other Cushty customer.
Is my data secure and backed up?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, every business runs in its own isolated database, and we take daily automated backups of your entire environment.
Who owns my data?
You do. If you ever leave Cushty, we'll provide a full export of your jobs, customers, quotes and invoices.
What support do you offer?
UK email support from people who understand how service businesses actually run. We respond quickly and we build what customers ask for — Cushty is shaped by what real users need, not a generic roadmap.
